Born in 1999, the Tour de España is the fruit of the collaboration between Peter Auto, Carlos de Miguel, the R.A.C.E (Real Automovil Club de España) and both the Spanish & Andalusia automobile federations.

Dedicated from the first event to the Grand Touring, Sports Prototype & Touring cars built between 1946 & 1973, it opens its doors now to pre-war cars.

Like the Tour Auto Lissac, the Tour de España includes two categories: Competition & Regularity. Nevertheless, the difference in the regulations with the French rally is that the Regularity section benefits from two classifications according to the measurement devices used by the crew.

>Super Sport for those teams who will be using the car original measurement devices only.

>Sport, for those teams who will be using outer measuring devices, but only mechanical.

The route, dotted by timed stages on closed roads or circuits, offers splendid stops for lunches and overnights. A bit less demanding on the sporting side than the French rally, the Tour de España is made of shorter legs, leaving room for a private visit to a major monument.

A format which does not accept more than 100 cars to save the 'family' atmosphere completes the picture of this rally which has fulfilled its ambitions: being the must do at the end of the European season.
